How are you celebrating Equipment Week?

As the Official Blog of the Health and Wellness industry (we are also looking for an official beer, and an official time keeper) I anointed this week “Equipment Week.” Equipment Week isn’t about family and friends. And it’s not about cinnamon lattes and Yule logs. Equipment Week is about your members. It’s about your business. And it’s about the one thing that separates you from having an empty room. So let me tell you what you should be thinking about during Equipment Week.

First let me tell you why as a software guy I am jealous of the equipment guys. It’s all about the trade shows. I’m jealous that as soon as the doors open everyone makes a mad rush to their booths. I’m jealous that they serve delicious, healthy smoothies at their booths. I’m jealous that the entire staff wears matching shirts every day. Ok I just needed to get that off my chest…

But let’s get back to the issue at hand. What should you be thinking about during Equipment Week. I haven’t done a list in a while, and I need to get in practice for our end of year list blog coming to you at…well…the end of this year.

1. What’s new? What do your members want? Expect? Need?
   For vendors out there, submit your NEW products and we will happily get the word out.
2. What’s old? Just as important as keeping your facility up to date. Sometimes you need to purge!
3. What should you be doing? The new members are coming in January. What are you going to do this year to keep them around for more than 2 months. TO quote Albert Einstein, perhaps the only man who could take over this blog and still maintain its high quality, once said, “the definition of insanity doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.” So I challenge you, are you doing the same thing in January thinking this is the year that the new members will stick around.
4. Who are the players? If you haven’t participated in one of our webinars, well that’s another reason you might be insane.
